Synopsis

Developing novel strategies for sustainability is more important than ever in a time when the globe is facing unheard-of environmental difficulties. By drastically altering the way we create, manufacture, and consume commodities, the circular economy idea has come to light as a ray of hope. It offers a revolutionary route to attaining sustainable development. Examining the circular economy's many facets and its capacity to propel significant wealth generation as well as climate action is the goal of this book, “Navigating the Circular Economy: Recovering Resources for Wealth Generation and Climate Action”. A circular economy is an alternative to the "take, make, dispose" linear model that has governed industrial activities for centuries. It promotes a regenerative system instead, which reduces waste and increases efficiency by recycling, repairing, and reusing goods, materials, and resources. This strategy improves resilience to resource shortages and climate change while reducing its negative effects on the environment and opening up new economic opportunities. This book's chapters are written by a wide range of academics and professionals, each of whom contributes special knowledge and insights to the conversation. Their contributions span a wide range of subjects, from the application of circular economy principles in niche markets like ICT and fashion to the function of governance and policy in advancing circularity globally. Every chapter offers insightful explanations of how circular economic concepts might be used in diverse situations to address today's urgent issues. It is imperative that we embrace circular economy principles as we head toward an uncertain future. A convincing picture of a sustainable future where environmental stewardship and economic progress coexist is provided by the circular economy. It is a future in which we adopt a more comprehensive, regenerative approach to production and consumption, eschewing the constraints of our existing linear systems. A wide range of readers, including academics, decision-makers in government, business executives, and anybody with an interest in the nexus between innovation and sustainability, are targeted by this book. We hope that this collection of concepts and case examples will encourage readers to consider critically how we can all work together to create a more just and sustainable world.
